My next portrait will be of K-9 hero Officer Gommez, of the Menasha Police Department (Wisconsin). The community of Menasha is mourning the loss of Officer Gommez after he had to be put after being diagnosed with late stage cancer. Gommez and his handler Officer Spiegel not only won a number of K-9 competition awards, but he was the star of many public appearances where he showcased his talents; he made stops at local schools, Menasha Rotary Club, and at our Citizen’s Academy and Youth Academy. I am honored to draw his memorial portrait.
