Someone emailed me the other day, to ask how many pencils I use to create my portraits. The answer is: it depends on the project. For black/white portraits I may use only 5 pencils, because I can create a wide range of effects using degrees of pressure. Color portraits, on the other hand, may require many different colors that are used in multiple layers....
